CAN WE FLY AWAYfly away from our troubles ?- - - - - - - - - - Mellisa walked down to the park, humming quietly. People stared at her as she walked past, pointing at her and whispering to eachother. Then again, she couldn't blame them. She had many coloured ribbons in her hair today which was odd enough. Along with her yellow top and black skirt as well as her yellow tights and big black boots she was definatly standing out the most today. She was outdoing everyone in the weird department. No wonder people were also scared of her. She'd be scared if someone was dressed like this and she wasn't used to it. In a normal-ish place like this, she was odd. Odder then most, anyway.
A few kids were in the park over by the slide. She suddenly understood why parents hated their children coming here. What with all the older kids sitting aroud smoking drinking and setting a bad example it wasn't really a safe place. Confidently Mellisa walked into the park and headed towards the swings. They were by far her favorite thing out of the whole place. It felt like you were flying and for a while it just made you forget all that was bad in your life. It calmed you, gave you happiness. Well, thats was what it was like for Mellisa. She felt free and to be honest, she loved it.
She could feel the teenagers eyes on hr as she sat on the swing and began to wish they'd stop staring. She was weird, get over it. If she was with her friends she would be even weirder. She was only ever really hyper when she was with people she knew and felt comfortable around. Normally she wouldn't mind being stared at but today was different. She was feeling short-tempered and if someone insulted her she felt that she may just lose it. Not that this was a major issure for her but she'd feel sorry for the people on the recieving end. - - - - - - - - - - status ! completeword count ! 326tags ! opennmuse ! it hates me xDnotes ! i could add more but i am being lazy :L

Valentino Di Canio Valentino slowly walked out of the grounds. He had just finished his football training, had a shower and was going out to find something to do. He was bored, it was something that happened quickly when he was in his dorm room, there was nothing to do in it as he didn't have a dorm mate at the moment. He walked down the street, slowly, beginning to button up the buttons on his cardigan. Yes, he still had that amazing dress sense that all Italians had and he enjoyed being this fashionable because it just made him that little more irrisistable. His buttons were finally done up and he pulled his cross out of his shirt and placed it in view. He liked to show off his religion, but a lot of people weren't sure whether or not it was real because there were a lot of people who wore crosses with no attatchment with Jesus, he hated it. He finally found himself at the gates of the park and a smile played on his lips.
The cool brreze hit him as the smile appeared and he loved the breeze, reminded him so much of England, he loved that place too much. He slowly moved through the gate and looked around in the park, so many little kids playing in the place. One day he did hope to have kids of his own really, someone he could teach to play football and have a giggle with them. He began to walk deeper into the park and stopped as he felt a football roll up to his ankles and a group of small children asking him to pass them back their ball. He messed with them for a moment, not bothering to, but then kicking it over to them with a little smile. He carried on through the park and then stopped in his tracks as he laid eyes upon the one that went by the name Mellisa, strange name, but very nice too. He slowly walked to the swings and stood beside her. "Hey ragazza, mind if I join you?" he asked her with a little smile, his Italian accent coming through strong.

CAN WE FLY AWAYfly away from our troubles ?- - - - - - - - - - Mellisa started swinging, the breeze ruffling her hair and making her smile happily. She couldn't understand peoples objections to enjoying themselves, even if it was meant for kids. It was still a hell of a lot of fun to play around here even if it was all by yourself. Her black boots kicked up dust as they hit the ground, making her go higher and faster. A smile spread across her face and she giggled quietly. Suddenly it didn't matter what those stupid kids thought. She was in her happy place. This was her happy place and she loved it. She started to slow down as she spotted someone who appeared to be nearing her.
"Hey ragazza, mind if I join you?" Mellisa stared at the guy then nodded slightly."Uh, not at all." She said, hoping that made sense. She shook her head slightly and looked down at the ground, wondering what sort of joke he was going to pull on her. After all, what are the chances of a random senior walking up to her? Not high, that was for sure. She was used to the sick little games the older kids played on her but tofay she wasn't really in the mood. With a sigh, she began swinging again but no where near as high as before. She glanced at the guy again and decided it best to introduce herself. Even if this was a joke, they at least needed to know her name. "I'm Mellisa by the way, and you are?" She asked him politely. She noticed the accent in which he spoke was definatly not Australian. It was more of a Europe accent from what she could guess. She'd have to ask him later, just so she knew for sure. - - - - - - - - - - status ! completeword count ! 295tags ! opennmuse ! it is practically midnight and i have school tomorrow .. i should effectivly be asleep xD so my muse is dead ¬.¬ until the morning.notes ! i dont mindd =D

Valentino Di Canio Valentino smiled to himself and sat himself down in the swing next to the girl before him. He wasn't here to play a trick on here, he was just here to relax, and now socialise, after all, it was mean to ignore people around you. He knew this girl from seeing her around school and such, but he didn't know her personally, maybe it was time he did. He liked meeting new people, but then a lot of people didn't want to talk to him because of his reputation, but under his rude, crude, violence, he was a pretty nice guy, a loyal friend and a really amazing lover. Once he had found his one true love, he would be sure to settle down eventually, just give him time.
He finally got comfortable in his swing and looked back to the girl. "Grazie," he said in his typical polite and Italian way. He never ran in a proper clique, so he didn't do things for populairty, he only needed to do things for himself, hence talking to a random stranger that went to his school. "Mellisa," he said to himself, trying to pronounce it aloud so he could get his head around it. "Very pretty name," he said with one of his suave little smiles as he looked over at her. "My name is Valentino," he said, using exactly the correct pronunciation that went with it. He was very particular when people pronounced his name because he needed it to sound perfect. Yes, he was a perfectionist, but there was nothing you could do to stop him about it. "It's nice to meet you," he said with a genuine smile. He wanted her to feel comfortable around him, after all, that's what he was best at really. If a girl didn't feel comfortable, he didn't feel comfortable, it was as simple as.

CAN WE FLY AWAYfly away from our troubles ?- - - - - - - - - - Mellisa watched him carefully, listening to him as he spoke. She wasn't sure exactly what to say. "Very pretty name," He told her and Mellisa shrugged slightly. "I suppose it is .. but i'd rather have a more unusual name. One that fitted my personality better." She told him, grinning. Then, realising she was rambling on to a stranger went quiet. "My name is Valentino," He then said, seeming unaffected by the fact she was being shy. Most unlike her. "Valentino." She said, trying to pronounce it as he had. She instantly feel in love with his name. It's wasn't a very common one .. well she had never heard it anyway. "Thats an awesome name." She commented, feeling a little better.
She felt a lot more comfortable around him even if they had only met a few minutes ago. He seemed like a nice guy although the name rang a bell. She just wasn't sure why. She had obviously heard it somewhere at school but she wasn't sure why and she knew it was going to annoy the hell out of her. She hated it when this happened. When you knew something yet you didn't. It made her angry. She'd figure it out though, she always did. She kicked her boot on the ground, staring at the floor. Her shoes her scuffed quite badly but they always were. Not much she could do to fix it really. Well there was but she couldn't be bothered.
"So, what year are you in?" She asked him. She was assuming he went to school. If he didn't she would be quite freaked out and probably leave. Imagine it was a teacher? She'd get him done for being a stupid perveted prat. But of course if he was still in school it wouldn't matter. She hoped he was in school because he seemed like quite a nice guy. Of course knowing her luck ... Biting down on her lip she looked up at him and gave a weak smile, waiting for his answer.

Valentino Di Canio Valentino smiled at her slightly, she seemed very quirky in her own rights, the way she rambled a little bit on about her name, but it was a pretty cool name. "Every name suits someone, you just have to make it you're own," he said with a little smile. He was lucky actually, his name suited his typically suave way of stealing peoples hearts, breaths and girlfriends. He couldn't help it, he was just a natural flirt and a bit of a manwhore, but then again, he did know when to stop. "Well, it's Italian, what do you expect?" he said with a little playful smirk. Yes he was full of himself, but you needed to be full of yourself for people to respect you or to take you on, if you were too weak and nerdy, you wouldn't get a girl no matter how hard you tried, unless she was as equally weak and nerdy. But then Valentino was one to aim high, that way even if you didn't get the one at the top of your list, you still ended up with someone pretty good looking. It would be like aiming to get Angelina Jolie and getting Megan Fox instead, still good, just not AS good.
Swinging his legs slightly to get a little momentum made him smile as the cool breeze hit his face. He loved the cool air, especially since it would be summer soon and way too hot for him to breath in. "I'm a senior," he said with a little smile, proud of being in the group of the oldest students in Perth Sporting Academy. "I'm guessing you've seen me around the sporting academy," he said, still smiling to himself slightly. He never thought he would enjoy being in Australia, but he really enjoyed it really. "So, what year you in?" he questioned curiously, and for his own good. Freshmen were way out of bounds for him, he would do a puch at Sophomore, but that was a push, depending on how good looking they were. He didn't want people to think he was taking advantage of younger girls, so he did his best to keep them in his age range.

CAN WE FLY AWAYfly away from our troubles ?- - - - - - - - - - Aha! He's Italian. Mellisa thought happily. Okay so she hadn't figured it out but still, at least she knew where he was from. Or she was guessing he was from there anyway. Then, realizing what he had actually said, Mellisa rolled her eyes. "Doesn't mean I wouldn't have heard the name." She told him, smirking. Okay so maybe it DID mean she wouldn't of heard the name but he didn't have to point it out, did he? Well she didn't think he did. She was beginning to think he was one of those show-offs who could get quite annoying after a while. Wait .. didn't she like to show off? Oh yeah she did. Damn, she really was a hypocrite.
"I'm a senior." Valentino said and Mellisa mentally swore. It was typical that he would be much older then her. Really. She wasn't having much luck it seemed. "So what year you in?" He then asked and Mellisa stayed silent for a moment, thoughtful. If she told him what year she was in would he leave? Because right now she was happy to have company. Even if he was a senior. "I'm a sophomore." She said reluctantly, wincing slightly. She really was young.
Sighing, she kicked off from the ground and started swinging again. She swung her legs, trying to get higher. One of these days she was going to go over that metal bar and end up seriously injured. But hey, she heard it was fun and even if for only a few moments you truly felt like you were flying. Maybe that had something to do with being airborne but hey, who knew? "I bet your gonna run off now, hey? Embarrassed to be talking to a sophomore?" She teased him, laughing to cover up how uncomfortable she had once again become.

Valentino Di Canio Valentino smiled slightly to himself as his eyes rested upon her. There was undenyable beauty in this girl, she might have been odd looking, but she had a certain look about her. It was her own look and that was even more of a turn on. Girls who were themselves and more confident were sexier than a girl who was pretending to be her best friend, that turned him off of girl in actual fact. "True, I guess, but I bet you haven't heard of the name," he asked with a little smirk, not being able to resist it. Hardly anyone had heard of his name and that's the way he liked it, it stuck in you rmind more when it was original, along with the fact it would impact on girls' minds, meaning that he would be the first one they call when they left their boyfriends. He did have to thank his mother for his name because it gave him a bit of an edge with the ladies, they dug his name quite a lot, after all, it was close to Valentine and that was romantic, apparently.
Waiting for her to reply let his mind wonder, if she was a sophomore, it wouldn't matter to her, but he would be scared of flirting with her too much. He wouldn't stop talking to her, but then again, if she was a more intelligent sophomore, he probably would hang out with her more. "Hey, I would never feel embarrassed talking to someone as pretty as you," he said with a little smile, he was a flirt, but he couldn't help himself when h was around someone so interesting. "And anyway, talking doesn't cost a thing, so why should I be embarrassed of a free treat," he said grinning slightly. He loved to come out with these strange little things, but that was mainly because that was the person his mother was, almost poetic in her ways.

CAN WE FLY AWAYfly away from our troubles ?- - - - - - - - - - "True, I guess, but I bet you haven't heard of the name," Mellisa rolled her eyes. "No, I haven't heard of it." She admitted, annoyed. It was the sort of name that stuck in your mind. It reminded her of many things, most of them being romantic things which was odd. Red hearts and valetines day was all she was thinking about. It was beginning to really annoy her actually. Never had a name had much of an effect of her. Damn those odd little names that had such a stupid effect on her. She needed to learn to stop obssesing over odd and unusual names. It really wasn't healthy.
"Hey, I would never feel embarrassed talking to someone as pretty as you," Mellisa smirked out him. "Oh, so you are one of those boys eh? All about the looks." She joked, laughing quietly. She was only kidding. After all she doubted a senior would think that way ... right? Well, she kinda hoped they didn't. That was how the immature kids felt. She assumed the older kids had some sort of sense but then again, she was probably mistaken. Then again, if he was looking at personality too, he'd probably wanna leave. She seemed to scare a few people before they actually got to know her. It was almost a hobby for her now.
"And anyway, talking doesn't cost a thing, so why should I be embarrassed of a free treat," Mellisa raised an eyebrow as her swing began to slow again. "So you normally start conversations with people you have never met?" She asked him, biting her lip to stop herself from laughing. It just seemed odd for her. Most people felt uncomfortable talking to random strangers. Then again, she had a feeling Valentino wasn't exactly someone who would care that much. It was just by the way he acted, not that Mellisa minded.

Valentino Di Canio Valentino let a little smirk travel onto his lip, he knew she had never heard of it because in all honesty, most people hadn't, apart from Italian people. He loved his name and he knew people liked his name right back. "Just as I thought," he said, looking over at her with a little smirk. Oh, smirking, what a wonderful tool, it could be used in so many different ways. He used it mainly to play with people with girls' heart strings, making their knees grow weak and their hearts flutter. He could also use it to show the hatred for his enemies, oh his enemies were the ones that would be rotting in hell soon and he would have so much fun making sure they did that. Sometimes he hated people, but the ones he hated were usually the ones of the same gender as him, men were just so hard to get along with when you were Valentino because of his stubborn behaviour, his tendancy to insult people and all in all, his out right violence to people who would give him one tiny comment on his weird accent. If you knew Valentino, you knew he was awesome, but you would have to know him first.
All about the looks, that was an intresting statement, sure that was his first attraction, but once he started to get to know the person, it was all about the personality, if they were nice, if they were amazing and most of all, if they laughed at his jokes. He needed a girl who was confident in herself, otherwise what was the point? He would spend all his life telling her how amazing she was and she would deny his comments every time. "Well looks are the spark, but it is what is underneath the outter shell that counts," he said with a little smile and sweet glint in his eye. Oh he was the master! His words were just a little too smooth sometimes, but then it was the fun of it all. He loved to flirt with women, he couldn't help it, there was just a thrill in the whole thing, of course, it didn't always go the whole hog, but he didn't always want it to, he wasn't a sex maniac, he was just addicted to female company.
Strangers were an interesting thing when you thought of it. They were fun and they didn't know how to react to someone random speaking to them. It was how they reacted that could spark a whole new relationship, whether it be friends, enemies or maybe even lovers, it was always fun. "I talk to people in general, whether they be strangers or not," he said with a polite smile. He swung on the swing for a few moments and then turned his attention to the girl before him, Mellisa, the sweet sounding name, the one that would stay on his tongue for days to come. "Strangers is how we all start, it's how we all end up that matters," he said, still smiling, looking at her over his shoulder slightly, his lovly brown eyes looking right at her.

CAN WE FLY AWAYfly away from our troubles ?- - - - - - - - - - Mellisa slowed her swing until it was pretty much standing still. She stared at the ground, scuffing her foot on the floor. As he started talking about that it was more what was on the inside that counted she looked up, a slight confusion passing over her face. Was he being serious? Sure, there were a lot of guys that thought this way but it was just sort of a surprise coming from him. She wasn't sure why but she just expected him to think the other way. That looks counted more. That just showed that you couldn't judge someone before you got to know them. You often got the wrong impression.
Mellisa started listening intently as Valetino explained that he liked to talk to strangers. "Strangers is how we all start, it's how we all end up that matters," He pointed out and Mellisa nodded in agreement. "True." She said staring up at the sky thoughtfully. She had never really thought about it like that before and admittedly that did make some sense. Well, maybe it didn't but that was just because not much made sense to her. She was someone that could get very easily confused.
"Milk makes me hyper." She said suddenly. Then, realizing what she said she bit down on her lip, blushing slightly. "Uh ... I mean." oh crap. she thought. now he's gonna think i'ma nutter. Stating random facts about herself was something she did when it went silent. It was an odd little quirk of hers that wasn't exactly all to good. It often made people confused and would probably freak them out to. She felt like apoligizing but, feeling that would make the situation worse, just shut up. It was probably best to not say anything.

Valentino Di Canio Valentino was always seen as a person who goes for looks and not personality, but they would be sorely mistaken. It was just the way he looked he supposed, and the way he flirted with anything that had breasts really. Honestly, this guy enjoyed sex and would have one night stands, but not with air headed idiots, he needed a personality because you never know, the woman you have a one night stand with could be the woman you marry. He loved girls who were sassy and themselves, he would never be able to deal with a girl who had no personality herself. He needed a girl he could take and to be the queen of his world, but if she was an airhead, there would be no rulings because there wasn't enough intelligence to do it. Women were a mystery sometimes, but he hoped that one day he would crack one and then he would have a girl all for his own and no one else would be able to touch her.
A smirk came to his lips as she agreed with him, of course she did, everyone does because he was that smooth. But it was true if you though about it, everyone was a stranger and everyone ended up as something even more amazing and beautiful, whether it become blind hatred and infatuation. He had finally finished his swinging, coming to a complete stop, resting his feet flat on the floor and then looked over at her as she stated milk made her hyper. He grinned slightly and chuckled. "Well, I hate peas," he said, still smiling as he looked at her. He knew that it could be a bit awkward meeting new people and speaking to strangers, but it was okay because he could be just as weird as she was being and he would enjoy every moment of this. Then again, he could feel that this conversation would be an entertaining one, especially if he found some milk before the day was over.

CAN WE FLY AWAYfly away from our troubles ?- - - - - - - - - - "Peas and any other yucky vegatable are only intended to be eaten by rabbits." Mellisa stated, smiling. At least he didn't think she was too weird. She didn't want to scare him away. He did truly seem like a nice guy, even though she was now beginning to remember some of the storys she had heard about him. Maybe they would be able to be friends? Who knew. She knew one thing though, she wasn't going to forget about him for a while. Which could prove to be a hassle. She had little brainspace as it was, she didn't need it being taken up by remembering people she'd met at a park for chirst sake.
She fidgeted on her swing for a moment before standing up. She was bored now having been here for too long. Okay, well it hadn't been that long but to her it had been. She couldn't stay somewhere for longer then an hour or two unless she was dancing and getting drunk. If she was with Alessandro, it may be different but she'd have had something to talk about. Plus, she was now craving milk. Great. "I'm gonna go. I need to get a drink and something to eat." She informed Valentino, standing in front of him and smiling. Half of her was hoping he would follow her or offer to keep her company. "It was nice meeting you, Valentino." She said, holding out her hand to him.

Valentino Di Canio Valentino chuckled at her statement, it was pretty true when you thought about it, but his mother had always told him to eat his greens or he wouldn't get an ice cream, but then again, he didn't care what his mother told him any more, sometimes he wished his mother would disappear and just leave him alone. "I must concur," he said with a little smile. He had always wondered why things that were good for you didn't taste very nice. Now, he was a healthy person with protein shakes daily and always making sure he had enough of each food group and so on and so forth. He knew he would never be able to play profession football if he wasn't in shape and stayed in shape, sure, he worked out, went to the gym and never stopping training, but you needed a healthy diet to help you stay fit otherwise all the training was just not worth it.
Watching her carefully, he contemplated what she was going to do next. Then she finally announced it and he smiled lightly, of course he wouldn't allow this girl to go alone, he wasn't that kind of guy, hell, he would probably pay for the food and drink knowing him. As she offered him her hand, he couldn't resist it, he slowly took her hand and raised to his mouth, lightly kissing the back of her hand. "Now, I would never let a pretty girl like you dine alone," he said with a suave little smile. "That's if you'll allow me to join you," he said, smiling a little bit as he stood to his feet, standing at his full height of around five foot ten, not that tall for footballer, but tall enough for a striker really.

CAN WE FLY AWAYfly away from our troubles ?- - - - - - - - - - After that little show, how could she allow him to stay here by himself. "Of course you can join me." She said, smiling lightly her eyes twinkling with what could only be mischeive. As he stood up, she began to fell small again. She knew she was small, especially for her age. She was just a hyper little pixie as her friend had once said. Which friend that was she wasn't all to sure. It would have been any of them. In fact, they had probably all said it at one point. "I'm not going anyway fancy. Probably just to a small cafe." She told him. For some reason she couldn't see him sitting there in a small quiet cafe. She wasn't sure why though, it just didn't fit with his personality.
She gave him a small smile as she turned away and began walking out of the park, humming quietly. She slowed her pace slightly though, so that she was walking in time with Valentino. They must have looked an odd pair really. Mellisa with her odd looks and hyper personality and him. She wasn't sure how to describe him really. For all she knew, this was just a mask he put on to make people like him and then he'd show who he truly was. For all she knew, he was a mass murderer although that thought amused her more then scared her. Now she was having visions of a really polite rapist. That would be a rather odd scene.
