what can i say, i love the dancing and the drinking,
and standing with you, intimately sweating all night

Juliette gave the mirror a quick glance and thought for a moment. She was never too sure why she worked this late, but she couldn't help herself, she had to do it because she wasn't taking money off of her step-mother, instead she was saving up herself, to buy things for her and her friends, so she could save up and a buy a house by the beach and have Jack move in with her and they could have two boys and a girl, a rabbit, a dog, two cats and an iguana, the white picket fence and the huge back garden. She had it set and couldn't wait, but first she had to work. Monday and Wednesday she worked in a video rental store, Tuesdays and Thursdays, she worked in HMV, during the days on weekends, she would work as the music expert in the music store, and weekend nights she was the bartender at Neon Lights. Maybe she was a workaholic, she loved meeting new people and having new experiences, and she got to do that in all four of her jobs. She enjoyed working, unlike some people, so she did it. Sure it meant she had to manage her time really well, but that's what she was good at really.
She had to dress up nice for working in Neon Lights and she had done just that along with some elaborate make up. She was never obsessed with her looks, but she had to make herself look pretty for the management to like her more, making an effort meant that they liked her more and then she could slack off a little every so often and dance with her friends instead of working too hard. She was ready to leave as she tugged slightly at her skirt and sighed. Okay, now she was ready to go, slinging her bag over her shoulder. She looked down at her shoes and nodded to herself, glad she had matching shoes and they were actually on the right feet. That's a story for another time, but let's just say she walked along the street with her shoes on the wrong feet and she fell flat on her face. She moved off out of her dorm. This was the tricky part, she wasn't exactly the stealthiest of people, but she had to sneak out, it was passed curfew and she needed to be at work otherwise she was pretty much screwed. She looked around and made a run for it and luckily didn't get caught.
She was now outside in the nice weather of a September evening, not cold but warm enough to get away with no socks or tights, she would never be able to get away with this back home. Hell, back home she would have to ice skate to school at this time of year, not that she was complaining, she loved to skate everywhere, one thing she missed about Canada really. One of the things she loved about this place was all the different people from all over the world, her best friend lived in Australia all his life, her boyfriend was America and her adoptive little brother was from Finland, it was just too awesome. She was making friends who were teaching her new languages and she was teaching them French and she was just enjoying this whole situation way too much. She loved different cultures and learning about different things, like just the other day she spoke to an Italian about the fascination with coffee, it was an amazing conversation.
On her way to her lovely job, she just could just feel her thoughts going around in her mind so much. She had a lot to think about; Frederick's birthday party that she was organising for sometime soon, Brad and how she would be dumping him and of course, who could forget the oh-so amazing Jack who would never leave her thoughts. She hated it sometimes because it meant that she was pretty much cheating on her own boyfriend, but then again, Jack made her feel so right, like she belonged somewhere and she was truly loved. Of course she was loved by everyone around her, but Jack just some how made her happy in her life, like everything went right when he was there. It could be the worst day of her life, but Jack would make it right. He could just give her that happiness that was like a hit of cocaine, Jack truly was her drug and she would need to go to a Jack rehab clinic
She was dragged out of her little day dream as she heard a group of tweens cheering and waiting for the doors of Neon Lights to open. She smiled at a few of them as they cheered her, she was the famous bartender people loved her when she was behind the bar because she was really nice to the customers and they enjoyed her company. She wondered whether tonight she would perform tonight because of they chanted for the girl with the mask, that would be her cue to run in the back, change into her stage clothes and rip the place up. That's what was in the bag. She smiled as she walked around the back and got to the bar, hanging up her bag in the staff room and greeting her fellow workers. She smiled slightly as she sat up on the bar and looked around, once those doors were opened, the rush would be crazy, but she would love it.
