• take a breath, chillax and love the beach,
The weather was good, he was feeling fine and it was time to take a dip. The young fellow that was Frederick Miller wanted to go out and enjoy the sun before it disappeared altogether for another two weeks. At the moment it was September, he was soon to be nineteen and he truly couldn't wait. He would finally not be the one in the group who was still eighteen, but soon enough all the others would be twenty, and that was just old so then he could tease them about that, but for now, he was stuck being just sweet little eighteen year old. In a few days, he would be tearing up the town, don't you worry about that! But for today, it was time to take in the rays while they lasted. For September, it was pretty nice actually, usually it would be raining because it was actually like Spring right now, or something like that because of how backwards Australians were, he could never get used to it being all sunny and happy during Christmas, he missed the collosal amounts of snow he would get in Finland at Christmas time, but never the less, this was still nice because anywhere his friend were was a great place to him. He was a sap, he knew it, but he loved it because it was what made him who he was, and that's what made him special, an individual and most of all, it made him Frederick.
He didn't bother to put a tshirt on because people didn't take any notice of him, apart from the girls drooling over him, which he hated. Sure, he did like female attention, but he wasn't that special, a little too modest in all honesty. He had shorts on which were good enough for him, lovly surfing shorts, he would go surfing, but he was sure the water would be way too cold for him to actually surf in, he wasn't even sure if he was going to swim yet, it all depended on whether or not he could actually be bothered. But he did have shoes on, otherwise he knew his feet were going to hurt walking to the beach, concreate and bare feet were never a good mix, he learnt that through Juliette after she walked home from a party bare footed because her shoes were that uncomfortable, from that day on she vowed never to wear uncomfortable shoes again, and he was proud of her because of it. He carried on walking down the street, wondering if he would see anyone he knew on his way there, but no one caught his eye really.
Finally the sun shone right in his eyes. Okay, a strange thing to want to happen, but Frederick wanted to show off the sunglasses that Juliette had bought him a few days ago. He grinned to himself as he pulled them from out of his pocket and then finally put them on, the arms sitting perfectly on his ears. He loved it. Yeah, he could have turned his hat around to block the sun out, but that would be no fun, he loved these sunglasses and really hadn't had a chance to show them off just yet, so now was the perfect oppurtunity. He wasn't a poser in anyway shape or form, he just quite enjoyed showing off a nice new gift. He has never been rich and never had fancy things, but since befriended Juliette, she treats him like a prince, constantly buying him things and making him feel better about himself. It was weird, it's like she is his own private confidence boost. And he needs it, especially if he's going to work on asking Mercedes out one day. Oh Mercedes, he would do it soon, he knew he would.
His tiny little mind drifted to her, Mercedes, the girl of his dreams. She was perfect in every way. Of course, he was first attracted to her because of her intense beauty, there was no deny that the girl was pretty, no, that was an insult, she was perfection in every way. The way her eyes dazzle, the way her smile is so cute, the way her check bones sit, just everything about her was perfect. Then there wa sher grace on the ice, oh, she was amazing. She could do so many moves and very well, landing perfectly. The only other girl he had seen on the ice was Juliette and she was the complete opposite, the girl was violent! But back to Mercedes. Her personality was just a dream, she wasn't mean in any way, shape or form, she was just her. There was no false emotions when it came to her. That was one of the reasons he was scared of asked her out. If she didn't like him, that was it, she probably would speak to him again because he would seem like too much of a freaky guy to her, and he didn't want that, so distant friends would be the way they would stay until he finally knew what she thought of him.
Frederick glanced up as his mind finally came back to the real world with a smile upon his lips, he had finally arrived at the beach. He grinned to himself as he walked down the small hill that lead straight to the sand. Once there he glanced around quickly, there weren't many people there at the moment, but then again, it was a little early for people to be here, most people would come at around five-ish, after they'd picked their kids up and after they'd finished work. That's where he was lucky, free periods meant a quick hop down to the beach was very easy and no one would be there. He wished a few of his friends were with him, but Juliette and Brad were spending quality time together, Jack was in class, Aurelie was somewhere and everyone else wanted to study and such. He found his friends quite boring sometimes actually, but of course, he loved them like he loved skateboarding, or chocolate, but not together, he tried that once and it didn't end well. Let's just say, his next door neighbour wasn't happy with him.
He scanned the beach for a cool place to sit and nodded as his eyes settled on a place that wasn't too far away from the sea, but close enough to get good wet sand. With a little nod to himself he moved off to the ice cream booth where he purchased an ice cream, a bucket and a spade. He grinned to himself as he carried all his new items to the spot he had scoped out earlier and sat himself down in it with a little grin on his face. First of course, he would sit there eating his ice cream, getting most of the whipped ice cream on his noce as he licked away at the tasty food. Was it food? He didn't know, he guessed so because you couldn't drink it, so it had to be food. He glanced around the beach, wondering if today would be another lonely day in paradise or a friendly day in nirvana.
