and celebrate the irony EVERYTHING IS GOING WRONG but we're so happy It was, of course, still light when the one named Tessa had woken up from a slumber. This was a bad thing for her and she had attempted to get back to sleep, only to fail and get out of her bed anyway. Since she wasn’t able to get back to sleep now she had took it upon herself to get some form of work done for her class assignments. As a student of the top sport school in Australia, she was expected to know the ins and outs of her sport. But she already knew how to do that, a star student that no-one really paid any attention too. With a small yawn, Tessa clambered out of her bed and crossed to the window - for one alarming moment she almost yanked back the curtains, but didn’t. Instead she simply tried to look through the curtains before moving back and over to her closet. Her room-mate was nowhere to be seen and Tessa thought this to be a very good thing indeed.
Opening her closet, the brunette extracted a pair of ‘American Apparel’ jeans that looked as though they were ripped in the knees. She then pulled out a plain white t-shirt and unhooked her military style jacket from the hanger at the top - she’d deal with shoes when she was dressed. Shutting her closet door, she made her way over to her bed and laid her clothes down upon it. Not one too take forever when getting dressed, the brunette removed her pyjama’s from her person and changed quickly - the jeans were a little too long for her height, but that didn’t bother her. Folding her pyjama’s up, she placed them on the pillow of her bed and moved to the dresser, picking up the hairbrush which she ran through her hair gently, arranging it so that it was in her face as much as she could get it without it looking terribly false.
Once done, Tessa crossed to her little line of shoes and picked out the orange Vans. She slipped them onto her feet quickly and stood up to do up the buttons on her military style jacket. Now she was left with a few choices - go to the art room and finish her latest design, again. Look up more designs to fit her assignment or go to the library and find a good book to read. The idea of the library seemed like a good one to her and that’s what she decided to do. Plus; it was probably about the only place she could venture too without getting too much sun and alarming the other human students to her early morning sarcastic presence.
Swiftly, the brunette left her room and kept her head down, ignoring all the other students and keeping her hands shoved into the pockets of her jacket. The sun really was kind of bright and she was now silently cursing herself for being so damn stupid. However, it didn’t take her too long before she eventually reached the library and ducked inside quickly. Tessa and early mornings? Not such a good idea; especially since she had a tendency to snap at people in the mornings, she really was rather rude when she’d only just woken up.
Allowing the door to slam behind her, Tessa winced and looked over her shoulder. Damn it! Shaking her head at herself, the brunette moved across the library floor, looking at the shelves and reading the signs. She found herself drawn to the fantasy section - books about fairies and elves, dragons and all manner of other interesting and fictional, factual and plain weird creatures and people, intrigued her so.
One book caught her eye immediately, but it was on one of the top shelves. Tessa didn’t notice the male as she moved across the floor and reached her hand up as high as she could get it, to retrieve the book. Damn, she couldn’t reach. The brunette sighed and jumped; her finger tips grazed the bind of the book. Jumping again, she grasped the bind loosely and pulled as she fell back down to earth. Once more and Tessa didn’t bring just that book down - she brought half the shelf of books down. Landing on her back, the books fell on top of her with a bang. She did not scream, neither did she make any other noises, there was only the loud bang. However there was a pause, broken only by her voice, one word.
“Mierde!”

Post by Valentino Di Canio on Jul 9, 2009 21:50:11 GMT
Valentino Di Canio Valentino couldn't believe it was another day in Australia, another day closer to leaving this place and another day closer to joining West Ham United Football Club. That's all he ever dreamed about, playing as a striker for the greatest team in the world, the one team that had the best fans, a dedicated following and so many other things that took so long to describe. His eyes fluttered open and the harsh sunlight hit his face, like a swift kick in the nuts, or maybe a lovely punch in the face. This is the reason he missed England sometimes, you would be awoken from you slumber with the light patter of rain, or the shouting of your parents because you was late for school, none of this harsh sunlight business because, well, England had no sunshine, you had to make your own. This was the reason he had a huge picture of Bobby Moore on his wall, that would get him up every morning because he wanted to be as great as him some day, sure he played a different position, but he wanted people to chant his name like they did his and still remember him all these years after. Of course, remembering him would be a whole lot more sweeter if he was still alive because he could bask in the glory himself, but bowel cancer had taken him before his time and made him sick.
Yawning loudly, he glanced over to see his roomie was already gone, as if that bothered him. He searched the floor for clothes that needed to be washed and placed them in a black bag, slowly collecting washing, when it went on his floor, it needed washing, if it went back in the wardrobe, he could wear it again. He slowly opened to wardrobe and decided on today's clothes, hanging them up on the outside of the wardrobe doors. He then made his bed slowly, he loved being such a tidy little thing, more than what he could say for his room mate. Once his bed was made, he laid his clothes out on the bed, looking at them closely to decide if they went well today. He nodded to himself and then slowly started to change, changing his underpants first, then putting on clean socks and then putting on his clothes for today. He slipped on his cardigan and did the buttons up and then slowly stroked them down to make sure that they were all buttoned up and looking okay. He then picked the cross from off of his bedside table and put it around his neck, doing up the clasp with pure easy. Slipping on his shoes he nodded to himself with a little smile as he caught himself in the mirror, damn he looked good today.
Now, this may come as a shock to you, by Valentino was currently reading a serious of romance novels set in the city of Rome. He was off to get the next in the series and he couldn't wait, he was slightly over excited because, well, he was a romantic at heart, sure he flirted like crazy, but once he found his one true love, he would treat her like a goddess, a princess and anything else she wanted to be treated like. He walked along the street towards the library. It was the only thing that really reminded him of Italy, it was lovely and old and dusty, something he really loved when he was back home. The ancient ruins, the rustic feel of the place, just too much romance in one building. He was weird and he knew it, so shush. The book he needed to return was tucked just on the inside of his cardigan. He finally arrived in the library and smiled to himself. He placed the book on the table in front of the librarian and smiled to himself as she nodded and told him where the next in the series was. As if he needed to be told, he already knew.
As he walked around the library, he smiled at the few old ladies that were trying to find a new knitting pattern to give to their children in the form of a sweater, the passed out students who couldn't take the intense studying any more and even the soon to be father who was reading a pregnancy book and worrying himself more than was need. He finally found the book he wanted and sat himself down at one of the tables. He opened the book, hearing the spine crack slightly and smiling to himself, the first person to read it would be himself. He settled in the chair, trying to sink his teeth into the first chapter. He was a little excited to be reading this book, but could you blame him, he had just finished the last book and she could have been pregnant with her step-brother's baby. So much scandal in one book! His eyes began to read the first few words when he was suddenly dragged out of the imagination land by the slamming of the door, some people just didn't know how to keep it quiet in a library!
A noise came from on of the isles, sounding like a few books falling to the floor and then a girl swearing in French. He didn't know French, but he knew a few words and phrases. He raised an eyebrow and slowly bookmarked his page, not by dog earing the page, but by placing a small piece of paper on the page. He slipped the book in to the cardigan pocket and walked over to the girl. He smiled as he looked down at her. Attractive and a pretty young girl, he was in luck. He offered her his hand and smiled. "Need any help there ragazza?" he asked her, his Italian accent shining through thicker than usual. A suave smile appeared on his lips, he couldn't help himself. He was a guy, she was a girl and she was pretty attracted to her.

and celebrate the irony EVERYTHING IS GOING WRONG but we're so happy Other than it being completely inevitable that the brunette wouldn’t bring down the books on the shelves, what was more worrying was the fact that she was a girl who stood at a terrible height of five feet and seven inches. Surely she should have been able to reach the top shelf, at the very least? Apparently not, so it would seem. In fact, she could barely reach the penultimate shelf from the top, let alone the very top. The library in this place seemed so damn packed with everything that she wasn’t entirely sure if it was a good idea for her to be heightened so. Nevertheless, she made no verbal complaints about her height; instead choosing to keep quiet and not moan. She didn’t mind being tall, it just annoyed her on certain occasions where it was impossible for her to get a grip on things; she was taller than average for a seventeen year old.
This was probably why she had brought down several hundred (that was a bit of an exaggeration; my apologies) of the books on that one shelf, not only upon herself, but also upon the male she had passed not three seconds ago. It had been an accident, though it could have also been avoided if she had used her common sense… ha, no. This girl and common sense? Now there’s three words you should never use in one sentence when describing her. There was none inside of her and none on her exterior; she was reckless and a danger to herself and to others around her. This much was sorely noticeable after the minor incident just now, with the books and her not being able to reach what was out of her reach. Maybe it was there for its own reasons; maybe people just liked to put things in high places. Either way, she was not a happy bunny.
Reverently annoyed now, the sophomore brushed her hair back out of her eyes and pushed the load of books from her stomach and chest areas. Great! Now she had to put them all back before the librarian came running to see where that noise had come from. She also had to, damn. The girl looked to her left and noticed the male she had passed - books were on top of his person, she bit back a small laugh and concentrated on shoving the books from her slight frame. Once that was done she was free to pick up the books and shove them back on the shelf. Good thing she didn’t have OCD, otherwise she’d have to spend several hours or more trying to get the books back into chronological, alphabetic, datable and collective orders before actually placing them on the shelves. Yes, it was a very good thing indeed.
Picking up several books, the power-kiter stood on her tip toes and carefully; so they wouldn’t fall on her head for a second time, placed the books back onto the shelf. There wasn’t too many, so that was another good thing for her; being a little lazy and all. However a strong Italian accent pulled her out of her daze and she looked up into the eyes of a male with his hand extended towards her. Tessa tilted her head to one side and looked up at him with her big grey eyes. "Uh, maybe?" she asked, completely unaware that they were still in the library and people were now milling around them to see what had happened. She raised her eyebrow at his suave smile and didn't put it down as she reached out her own hand to take his own, pulling herself up from the floor. "Thanks?" Tessa did not let go of his hand, she kind of didn't want to at the moment.
Tessa Emily Phoenix was the very epitome of the word ‘odd’, indefinitely.
