As Martha left him to live out what she deemed a “normal” life, the Doctor was left to himself. His job to save his Universe would never really end – until he did. With a sudden shutter of his TARDIS, the Doctor beat upon the control panel to attempt to quiet or at least settle the noise.

But the turbulence only got worse. The Doctor was thrown back and forth until something dislodged from his attic and struck him upon the head – knocking him out cold.

After he awoke, he studied the readouts upon the screens in front of him. This Universe was…different. He could feel a tickle in the back of his head that made him feel oddly nostalgic. What was going on? With a few more key presses, the TARDIS spelled it out to him in his native tongue. With a disturbance in the vortex, he had been thrown into a new Universe. Not parallel one – but an adjacent one. But what else did this mean, other than he was far from what he deemed, ‘home’?

It meant that in this Universe – the Time Lords had won the war. It meant that since it was adjacent rather than parallel, all the people were different, with a few overlapping people who formed history itself. He had found the Time Lords again. He was home. A new home.
