There weren't many days where Jamie got a break from training enough that she could head outside in the daylight. A cool breeze was coming off the lake so she had decided to sit down and do some work. Homework was the one thing she always fell behind on her work since most of her day was spent training to the point of exhaustion. Her fingers were currently wrapped around a pen, the ink spreading across the paper in the delicate curves of cursive writing. A history textbook sat on the ground in front of her which she was reading and taking notes on, not really understanding much of it. That was the disadvantage to falling behind, you would try to catch up but you wouldn't understand a lick of what you were reading.
Sighing, Jamie dropped her pen onto the lined paper filled with notes and hit the next button on her iPod. Deadsy was playing in her ears at the moment and it surprisingly wasn't distracting. Music helped her concentrate, especially rock and metal since she could remember things by the beat of a song rather than by the actual words. She hummed along softly while taking her little break, hands running through her black hair that had been blown into her face. For weeks at a time she was in the gym training for hours on end, most of the time from about 5:30 or 6 in the morning until ten or so at night. Those days were the worst since she had little sleep and never got any homework done, ever.
So, on the days she had off or got done early she spent doing homework. Most of the time she was at her dorm room completing the work but on a few occasions she came out to the lake. It was much more quiet at the lake than at her dorm and she was more likely to be left alone. Right now, though, she would love to have someone help her with World History because she was failing the class miserably and didn't know what she was reading. Shaking her head slowly and adjusting her ear buds, Jamie leaned down into a straddle, which was surprisingly comfortable in jeans and a tank top, continuing to read and get herself more frustrated. Oh boy.
